What's Information Security?
Information security deals with several different "trust" aspects of information. The U.S. National Information Systems Security Glossary defines Information systems security (INFOSEC) as:

“the protection of information systems against unauthorized access to or modification of information, whether in storage, processing or transit, and against the denial of service to authorized users or the provision of service to unauthorized users, including those measures necessary to detect, document, and counter such threats.”

Information security is synonymous with computer and network security, information technology (IT) security, information systems security and, information and communications technology (ICT) security. Information security covers not just information but all infrastructures that facilitate its use—processes, systems, services, technology and most importantly – People, who are the creator, driver and user.

Having first class defense technologies and fool-proof processes are integral to a sound security strategy. However, it is a long known fact that People is often the 'weakest' link.
